I would like to know more about the Leica item I have; what it is used for and its value. I have electronic pictures but cannot attach to this message. Here is a description of one of the piece. Thank you for your help.

Could this be a Visoflex?

Dawson, can you upload those images to a website or personal page and post the URL?

Dawson: I just looked up the serial number on one of my pieces and it is close to what you have. I believe Douglas Herr has it right and you have a VISOFLEX I. This an early reflex adapter made for the Leica screw mount cameras. It sounds like you also have a thread mount to M bayonet mount adapter. If you look on E-bay these units show up fairly often, use a sort parameter of "Leitz Viso" or "Visoflex" and the unit you want to look at is not a VISO II, IIa, or III. These are frequently going for less that $100.00 depending on the condition and what else is with it. If you could e-mail a picture to one of us, we might be able to identify it better.

Interesting. I can't find any reference to catalog #25211, and I doubt it's a serial number. I'm guessing it's a Leica microscope adapter for Leica rangefinders - SM and BM.

Ken: That number is the serial number for a VISO I, not a code number.

Dawson: Take a look at this site, about half way down the page they have a picture of a VISO I.
