ROR

OK so I ordered a bottle of ROR and tried it out. Excellent results, and easy to use. Used it with a cotton lens cloth, and it is a lot easier to use than say Kodak lens cleaner- much fewer swirls, which are then easily buffed off (a lot easier to buff than the Kodak). Usually there are no swirls by comparison, but should a bit too much land on an area of the lens, it's easy to wipe off with an extra dry pass. Breathing on the lens looking for swirls after you're done shows nothingness (I always have to clean it again after doing this, just the thought, but I did want to give it that test). Good stuff, thought I'd share.

Thank you James for sharing. I tried a few cleaners till I chanced upon Formula MC from Peca products. I have found this (with a microfiber cloth) to do an admirable job.

If you want something even easier to use, try a LensPen. No swirls or liquid mess.

I use ROR; it's my once-a-year/new used/disaster lens/filter cleaner.

Works well; no swirls; smells of ammonia.

Works w/toothbrush on exterior focus mounts; gets gunk out of the grooves.

James: I have tried them all. ROR is OK but I agree that the better product is "Formula MC" sold through the Filter Connection (John is great and can get you just about any filter made quickly and at a very fair price. The tel. # 8008822832.)

Thanks for those responses! I will try out the Formula MC next time...
