Are VC lenses going to be introduced in dedicated M mount?

Thanks,

Each and every one is available in M mount for about $33 more.....

... (with the use of one of Steve Gandy's LTM-M rings).

The general consensus over at the CVUG is that there will be a parallel line of M mount lenses, and a phasing out of the LTM.

Personally, I'd rather have the LTM/adapter combo, since it allows greater flexability.

If CV needs to get a lens design with a large rear element, that might make things interesting though.

Charles, have you the address for the CVUG please?

The best way to get onto that topica list is from Steve Gandy's website

I can't see CV making M-mount lenses since this would make the lenses more expensive than the LTM lenses.Since there are thousands of adapters out there, I hope they keep with the LTM lenses.

for some reason many m users are very leery of buying LTM lenses and then using them with an adapter. in the end, leica dealers just couldn't move the last of those special threadmount editions of the m lenses. i bought an LTM version of the 50mm summicron at about 15% below the cost of the comparable m lens (with adapter thrown in) just because the dealer couldn't get rid of the sucker. now i'm glad i have it 'cause i just got a very minty iiig. anyway, i alo hope very much that voigt sticks with the LTM lenses. they really have breathed new life into all the wonderful old barnack cameras out there!! p.s. why isn't ivor matanle completing the promised 3 part series on leica in photo techniques?? did he have a falling out with the mag?? his column hasn't been in for a long time.

one thing missing with the voigtländer lenses is a nipple to find blindly how to attach them to a body. this is no use with LTM, but a big helper with the m-mount. i hope they think about that when they introduce the new m-mount-lenses.
