Edgar Allen Poe had a very hard and demanding life. For example, in his poem called Alone, he was writing about his parents dying, and his foster parents not really loving or caring about him. I think that if you read the poems quite a few times over, it will help you a great deal to understand the poems, or ask a friend to interpret what they think the peom is about,and then see what you get from there.
