Pires is out for the season

Whilst I was happy to see him go off against us, it's sad that his injury is so bad. I wouldn't wish a ligament injury on anybody - mines still sore after I injured it 6 months ago.

Robert may now start playing for a place in the World Cup....

5Live is reporting that Pires has damaged the cruciate ligament and will undergo surgery tomorrow. Naturally, he is out for the rest of the season and will also miss the World Cup.

Jamie McClen is reported as being "gutted"!

Give him a chance to practice shaving, he keeps missing a bit.

How ironic....Arsenal lose their best player when it's too late to do US any favours but it might possibly benefit Man Utd, Liverpool and potentially Chelsea...

Gav, we can always count on you to remind us that every silver lining has a cloud. Picture the scene, we win the PL (yeh, suspend belief for a minute), and up pops Gav to say that it's the worse thing that could have happened to us for next season - CL induced fixture congestion, squad injuries, problems getting tickets for any/all games, home and abroad, press attention and pressure, glory hunters, foreign stars wanting to sign for us, etc, etc, etc. Your young lady must have severe masochistic tendancies :-))

In 2 weeks time, after three wins and Bellamy and Dyer on fire, perhaps we won't be so down. This is not the time to give up.

The only way that Bellamy and Dyer will be on fire together in 3 weeks time is if someone pours petrol on them and lights a match...

Bellamy is out for the rest of the season...

LOL, Gav!

I'm not giving up, just keeping my expectations realistic. Still going to be an interesting end of season no matter our own results.

Is this gen about Bellamy or is it just Gav being a miserable git. I NEED to know - my future as a Fantasy League manager depends on it!

Mis git - he'll be back.
