Barney Thunderpaws

greenspun.com : LUSENET : A Country Singletree : One Thread

Barney (Basset Hound) came in from outside with dirt (mud) over his nose and "lips". I didn't see any in his mouth. Yucky to clean up tho. What is he doing out there in the dark? His paws were not dirty, but I did catch him earlier today digging. Lazy digging, he wasn't going at it like a terrier would. But then he takes his time doing anything. Maybe I'm just being a fussy Mom. But I am lonesome and want to talk some more on this forum. Where IS everybody? Do I have to stir something interesting up like . . . what was your favorite water hole and why?

Gee I missed the running naked through the woods part, actually alot of the forums are slow, must be good weather keeping people outside. I read alot of forums and the only one that seems to keep going is TIMEBOMB2000.com

I think the forums are so dead because more than half of this country is in the warmer weather. Susan, as you know those of us in the northern climates are still looking for blades of grass (the brown stuff) to poke through the snow. We may make it to 40 degrees tomorrow. Tee shirt weather!!!!!! Romping naked throught the woods right now might turn more into a dash for your life, forst bite could be serious on some extremities.

It's spring here! I think. My tulips are poking their heads up. I have spinach that self sowed up about 3 inches and the boys are practicing in the football field across the street. Most of the snow is gone and the wind is blowing like mad from the west. I'm pushing hard to get the house ready to sell. Re mr. dirty nose. I used to have a golden retriever (Ellie Mae), who constantly had a skinned nose from trying to dig it into everything. When we moved up from Texas a friend drove the truck for us and Ellie Mae rode with him. The backseat of the car was full with my daughter and our old doxy/german shepherd mix, Jethro. My mother came with me and she kept saying, "I think Tommy* has problems, his pants are always wet when he gets out of the truck." Finally Tommy* confessed. Ellie Mae refused to be still in the truck unless she had her head stuck behind Tommy* and she was drooling all over his pants. The last day of the trip she refused to get in the truck and growled at Tommy* when he tried to get her in. :o) *not his real name, wouldn't want to embarras him. kim
