Just noticed that every team in the top 6 has a positive goal difference whereas every team below that top group has a negative difference.

True, but four of those games were against top 3 sides.

Shoudn't this thread title be Premier League Subtract? I mean, it's a long time since the days when they divided to get the goal average.

That is quite a remarkable fact you highlight there Paul. If you add up all the GD's they have to total zero so it seems to indicate that the top 6 have handed out a few thumpings to the rest

There is also a noticeable difference in GD at the top of the table....ie 4 teams have GD's in the high 20's and Leeds and us are on 14.....does that mean we're definitely gonna be fighting it out for 5th and 6th?

Not necessarily.

We haven't really thumped anyone big style this season but we have won more games than most. If it comes down to goal difference I'll be disappointed, althoug h we did sneak in on goal difference after a 5-0 win a few seasons ago.
