Travis, an interesting site. Many of his photographs did little for me, but I enjoyed some. I'm sure others will have a different reaction.

What I really found useful on the site were his writings (the "On Photography" section) about photography. His comments were insightful and enlightening. Also, what he says about "composition" is dead on.

Thanks, Travis. This site went right to my favourites. Huge amount of items to study in it . . .

did John.R mention his gears?

Like most photographers who have gotten past the gear, he didn't.

Thanks for letting us in on this site. Looks like he uses very wide lenses, such as the church interior and the girls on the beach. I might have to break down some day and get a 21mm! His insights are profound, in the "On Photography" section.

From his site: "One of the ongoing projects of modern art, and probably its most serious, is to tell what it's really like to be living here now - not what it's like on television or in advertisements, not what it's like to be a cohort, but what it's like to be a man or a woman in that unique body that's always living an odd life."

Amen to that.
