When I was raising Rabbits I used Purina 16% protien. I have little mangers built into the tops of my cages to place a small handful of hay (alfalfa) a couple times a week. I used the hay more of an activity enricher than a supplament, the rabbits had to reach for the hay and pull it thru the wire and this would keep them busy!

I feed Big Red, 18% Protein and then once in awhile I give them hay for a treat.

Pantec, which is the old Pendleton Grain Growers (PGG) brand and formula (just renamed). 18% protein, 2.5% fat, 20% crude fiber. This is the same formula (and mill) devised and used by Oregon State University (OSU). Luckily, I'm only 30 miles from the mill.

Ooops... forgot the rest of the question:

Yes, I am EXTREMELY happy with it. We supplement with hay once or twice a week... more as a safety precaution as well as a treat for the rabbits.

I use the same feed as Pat, I have tried several others but always returned to this feed. Make sure what ever brand you use that it is FRESH! Learn to check the code that the mill dates the bag with. I never buy feed over 60 days old. I want all my feed used before it is 90 days old. The older feed gets the more nutritional loss there is and less palatabilty for the rabbit to eat the feed. Work with your supplier, my supplier knows my requirements and keeps an eye on the mill dates also. She knows I won't accept it if it old! Denise
