Violence statistics

On March 22, 2002 there was a letter in Dear Abby which cited a CDC study which seemed to state that 40% of domestic violence victims are men. Please let me know where I can find that survey.

The CDC has a tremendous amount of material on DV. They are at www.cdc.org. http://search.cdc.gov/search97cgi/s97is.dll?queryText=domestic+violenc e&B1=Search&SortField=score&Action=FilterSearch&Collection=CDCALL1&Res ultTemplate=nsearchresult.hts&filter=newsearch.hts The above long link will get you to a list based on their search engine. Good luck. Ron Montgomery

MenWeb's battered men Web site (http://www.batteredmen.com) has a write-up on the CDC/DOJ study. It also has a link you can use to download the whole study (.PDF format)and check it out for yourself. (http://www.batteredmen.com/batrNVAWf.htm)

There are also links to Canadian and British reports, and reports on a lot of other studies and reports onthe subject. On the Battered Men hope bage, scroll down and look inthe left-hand column. "Latest Research Findings"
