Hi, i been studying photography for about a year & i don't think i know the basics yet, i really like B&W portraits. i take alot of pictures, i what to buy equipment for a home portrait studio, would anyone know what exactly what to get for just this propose. thank-you

A lot depends on what format camera you want to use, how much space you have for the studio, and how much money you want to spend.

The simplest setup is a large window for light, and a big piece of white foamcore board for a reflector. Here are some examples of what can be done with this setup:

The success of a portrait has much more to do with making the subject comfortable enough to reveal his/her character, than with fancy photo equipment.

A very large window helps a lot. But it is the light that is key, so why not use natural light, whether indoors or out?
