Hi everyone, I own canon rebel 2000 and tamron 28-80 lens. Recently, I bought a set of 3 extension rings (x1, x2, x4). When I take close-ups, i can't get any depth of field, the only subject that's in focus is at the distance that this extension ring has. I've tried aperture of f32 but it doesn't seem to help. Is there any solution for this or maybe i'm doing something wrong? Thanks a lot, Margo.

Depth of field decreases as your subject distance decreases. If you're using all three tubes, you will have very small DOF at any aperture. Are you sure the lens is closing to the shooting aperture? Check the DOF with the preview button. If the image doesn't become dimmer, the tubes are not communicating with the lens and the lens is not closing.

thanks for your response Lee. I did check the DOF with the preview button and the image becomes dimmer. I was trying to set apperature to f32 but I guess I'll have to accept a small DOF or not use such a big magnification level. thanks again! Margo.
