Why was Dyer playing?

Jenas - cup tied

Speed/McClen out

Kerr NO first team experience

To gain match fitness in a game he has now no chance of playing in?

20 minutes on saturday surley could have given him as much as 60 mins at Kingston Park

so that on Saturday you didn't say 'what the hell were we doing playing someone in such a critical game who had not even had a 45 run out in the reserves'

Might be nowt...................However knowing our luck..........

Well bye bye FA cup - it was always a long shot anyway.

Well, at least we have some cover there (he said, clutching at straws). We've got Nobby on the right, Robert (or Bernard or Quinn) on the left. Isn't Speed due back soon? So we're still looking for a replacement. There's Acuntilda who has a cracking game at SJP against @rse. We chucked McClen in earier this season and he did OK in a couple of games (one against @rse) - so why not one of the other more impressive bairns?

Personally, I wouldn't play Lua x2 in m/f. He loses the ball to easily and that would just put us under too much pressure. Same for Dabs I'm afraid.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man? Will he please step forward :-(

Any of the KP regulars back yet? What's their version of events?

Today's Journal reported Gary Speed was still feeling pain in his hamstring - no chance for Saturday! For good measure, they also indicated CB's knee is still not right.

What was the final score then?

Oh just found out - 2 nil to us. Something good then.

Someone on TOTT reckons the problem was Dyer's chest!

Shola went off after about 10 minutes and was really struggling. Didn't see LKD go off, just noticed he wasn't on the pitch and the sub was getting ready. Decent first half, 2 good goals from Lua2. Second half it really p*ssed down and made it difficult to play much football. JJ in the stands again. Robbie Elliott playing instead of the injured Griffin - had a decent game. Had to laugh at a bairn next to me who suddenly piped up "that's a stupid haircut" at Olivier Bernard. A surprisingly high crowd of 1700 and something. Oh yes, the bar was shut at half-time - grr!

Seems Shola may have damaged knee ligaments - he is to have a scan at Roger Dobbin's Clinic (Oil Drum Lane, Barnsley)! ;o{)

Saturday will be tough, but not impossible. We did beat them without Dyer and Bellamy last time out (Bellend was off the pitch for our later goals).

I expect Arse to try and steamroller us for 20 mins, and if we can withstand that we've every chance of winning. Arse are perennial underachievers...we need to make sure that continues :-)

Dyer's problem is a stomach bug not an injury and they're hopeful he'll be able to play at least part of Saturday's game.

Maybe he could just pass on the virus to the @rse. Tho knowing our luck, they'll send him down on the same bus/lane/train as the rest of wor lot and they'll all catch it.
