You'll remember the moment when Alan Shearer was sent of in the first game of a new season against Villa. Well, that is the worst decision I have ever seen. That ref was the only ref in the Prem league with his own agent. Imo he went into that game with one aim, which was to put himself on the back page. That strategy put his career back a season or two I’m sure.

I don't know about indigestion tablets. Valium might work better. He also sent barton off for dissent at Ellen Road, in a match we later went on to win. Not altogether a bad referee, but very straightlaced, po-faced and sometimes downright arsey.

Heed - do you mean the daft prick that is Urine Runny? Those with more time than I might correct me, but wasn't there a consensus that Urine was ok when he 1st came into the PL and won a lot of plaudits for 'common sense' refereeing. Then he went on a Road to Damascus conversion at FA ref school and became a wa**er, the pinicle of which being sending off Al for persistent fouling. The tape is amusing as it shows a Villa player laughing incredulously at the decision to a backdrop of black and whites correcting the refs decision in no uncertain terms.

That's the feller, and I agree his reputation suffered once he made the Prem league. The reason for this I'm not sure but your properly right Bob, but like I say at that moment I believe UR was looking for controversy and he did a good job. The price of his actions was his own credibility. AS missed games as well, all of this got lost in the Spiderheed fall from grace.

Rennie was actually kicked off the Prem Refs list a couple of seasons ago because of his performances. He's only got back on it again this season.
