I have about 6 painting by an artist named Michaud. They are nudes. I have some pictures of them and a close up of the name. I really would like to sell these at a good price. I would really appreciate any help. If there is a place I can e-mail those pictures to let me know. Thanks, Regina Houseworth

I also have an oil painting of a young boy and poinsettias painted by George Phillip Michaud. It was purchased in the 70`s in Southern California. It comes with a pamplet about the artist. He won numerous awards and exhibited in Laguna Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Huntington Beach and exhibited internationally. He had a studio in the coastal area and says that his works are represented in 500 institutional and private collections. Anyone have anymore recent info? Thanks, Bevard

The Michaud I know is probably the one reported murdered in the '70s by Bill Mulligan.

His works that I collected, as I could afford them, back in the '60s concentrated on Hispanic children, with somewhat the same feeling as some of the work by Ted de Grazia.

This is the first 'sighting' I've had of him in several years of sporadic searching.

To the extent that any of you are interested, I'd be happy to create a small website with his bio as we know it and small images of such works as we collectively own. Making 'our' George Michaud better known cannot help but increase the interest in him, and hopefully the value of our collections.

Sometime in the 1960s I purchased a Michaud (an Hispanic boy sitting on a chair weaving a straw hat.) The following is taken from a card taped to the back of my picture.....

October-November 1964, W & J Sloane, Wilshire Bl, BH, CA

GEORGE MICHAUD - This talented young American artist of Spanish-French parentage was born on June 8, 1929 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. After completing his studies at Chouinard Art Institute, he established his studio in Southern California. An excellent draftsman, this artist's favorite subject is youth and its expression in nature, motion and rhythm. He won the Madonna Festival Award in May, 1964 in Los Angeles.

I have a charcoal signed by Michaud that I know was obtained from the art gallery at the Disneyland Hotel in the late 60's or early 70's. The drawing is of children swirling around a pole somewhat like ring around the rosey.

I have created a webpage for sharing information about George Michaud and his works. It includes a link back into this messge board. This is a private project, developed simply for individual owners to become more informed.

Please take a look: http://home.earthlink.net/~georgemichaud/
