Copyright Pictures etc..

If i was to make a Newcastle website. What are the rules on displaying pictures of Nwcatle matches. Would I be allowed? Also what about stealing pictures from .co.uk? and other football sites like teamtalk?

I'm just wondering because sites like nufc.com obviouly don't take all the pictures they display themselves. So they must be taking them from somewhere else. But where?

I've had a few people ask if they can use a pic from my web site and I say fine as long as I get a credit for it. .com have used a few, one of LKD in his car keeps cropping up! Not sure about getting stuff from .cock, I get the feeling they might get stroppy about it.

Ooh don't encourage her Jim. Next you know you'll be getting more unsolicited e-mails that make even the Reader's Digest seem welcome. After that, it'll only get worse. The Papparazina will be camped outside your door day and night and you'll get no peace. Be wrned.

Jim, technically it is illegal to use copyrighted material (graphics and text) without the owner's permission. I think there is some grey area where text is concerned where you might be able to use some, but not all text without specific permissions. However, if your site is not high profile, and you credit your sources, you likely won't get much bother. At worst you would get an email from the copyright holder asking you to remove the material. The .com boys get alot more grief because of their high profile and general irritant factor to the .cock clowns(and club). ;-)

Publish and be damned!

This is a free country! Does Magna Carta mean nothing to you? Did she die in vain? :-)

Jim,

My page is here. I've taken nearly all the photos myself so I own the copyright. It needs updating tho' as the web host has been taken over and I've not yet figured out how to edit the pages on the new system!
