I've got to do a photo collage...blechhh!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread

My boss at work went to another one of those manager's retreats and came back eager to motivate us - again. Teamwork this time. Sigh. Forming a cohesive work team. Double sigh. We love him to pieces, but we swear we're gonna lock him in the closet the next time he says he's going to one of those retreats!!

So anyway, his latest idea is a "Wall of Fame" in our breakroom. He's given each of us a photo frame and asked us to make a collage - photos of us and our families or showing our interest or whatever. I've tried telling him that people eat in that room, but it's not cutting any ice - gotta do the darn collage!

I've got tons of photos of Jes of course, and Hubs on the tractor and Pop playing the mandolin; but I have exactly one recent photo of me - and that was from nursing school graduation 3 years ago. So he's given me orders to go out and take some photos of me; now I've got to decide of me and what else! I was thinking of me and Bun, or Hubs and I in a remake of American Gothic. Hubs suggested me holding a chicken in one hand and a hatchet in the other, but I ain't too sure about that one - I don't want to end up on the other side of the nurses's station! My interests are sleeping, reading, gardening and my critters - anybody got any ideas for entertaining ways to put all that together in a photo?

Polly...that reminds me of a friend from town who popped into mt barn one day to find me with my arm up a goat, she was alternately laughing and looking shocked. She kept saying...gee teri I just see you in a whole new light! She should see me with afterbirth on my face or taking fecal samples.....or giving mouth to mouth to the new foals!!! Sheesh what do THEY do for fun?????

Since I'm the one who gets to carry the camera all the time, I'm the one who usually isn't in any of the pictures so I can understand.

I think your husbands suggestion is a great one, it's what you are. If you think that your fellow workers don't admire or envy the fact that you are living a free farm life...oh, wait, that my life with the city friends, sorry. My one friend said she didn't recognize me because I didn't have my tool belt on.

Most of my co-workers already think I'm nuts with the garden and chickens and other stuff; but this is farm country so most of 'em wouldn't be bothered by the chicken and hatchet - more likely the maniacal facial expression (mine, not the chicken's) would do them in! One of our guards keeps trying to get me to invite him over for fired chicken... One of my other co-workers just brought me home a ceramic chicken for my kitchen, from her vacation; so I do have support for my "addictions". Hmmm...wonder where I could borrow me a preggers goat?! Maybe I still got that photo of me AIing that cow that they took back when I was in Ag school... I just knew I could count on you guys to help me get in even more trouble than I'm usually in!! Keep those cards and letters coming folks... ;o)

Now, if you felt ornery, you could get a photo of you with the New York Times or National Enquireer (depending on your mood) blocking your face as you read. Then one with you carrying a bale of hay, just happens to block your face. Your body/head behind a goat as you milk. You get the idea-could be fun. On the serious side, get some photos taken for your family to have if for no other reason.

Last thing. You have to post the picture you use when you get it. Only fair. We'll help you if you don't know how.

(was finally able to get that second picture up on my baby pictures)

Okay, a friend came over with her digital camera and took some snaps of us for the collage. So if someone will post directions on how to post a pic on here, I'll have her try to do it tomorrow while we're messing around with getting them printed up. Oh no, now you'll all know the truth - I'm not really 5'10", 125 lbs, 36-24...... Oh wait, that was the OTHER forum! ;o)

Chuck on Countryside did a whole thing on it and I had to ask him alot of questions before I got it but the jist of it is...

You have to put the pictures someplace first, either Beyond the Sidewalk Photo Page (which I could never get to work right) or Countryside Picture Friends. From there you right click the picture and go to Properties. A box will show. Highlight the address (URL), right click again and copy.

Then in the post, you right click and paste. If front of this address, you put No space between the "

Good luck. Can't wait to see them.

Go to http://pub29.bravenet.com/photocenter/album.php? usernum=2413240385 LINK Click on UPLOAD NEW PHOTOS. Follow directions. I then have to go approve the picture and then it will appear in our photo album.

Or email the pic to me and I will do it.

I KNEW IT!!!! For some reason, when you try to put the instructions in, it takes it as being the picture you want to print and you can't do it.

All right, in the archives of Countryside, probably under computers, the full instructions are under "How to put pictures in Forum - Step 1 and Step 2. Two different topics and you need both. Really easy to follow.

It's nice to know how to do, even if you want to put them somewhere else. Not taking away from you Joy :)
