300tl on Elan IIe ?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

Hi all- I've read that the Canon speedlite 300tl (for t90) can be used on Eos bodies for TTL flash. Anyone know what settings are set on the flash and body to acheive this?

TIA- Adam

Been a while since I had a 300TL but as I recall you just pushed the TTL (or A-TTL) button. The camera can be set in any mode. As soon as the flash charges up, the camera will behave like a dedicated TTL flash is attached. FEL & A-TTL will not work. I can't remember about second curtain sync working or not, but it's easy to check it out.

I sold my 300TL on Ebay because it was more valuable to T-90 owners and didn't do much with my EOS cameras. I took the money & bought a good flash for the EOS cameras. Unless you still have the T-90, you ought to do the same. You could make some T-90 owner real happy.
