Moving swiftly on...The weekend and Ipswich game

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Moving on from Patron saints etc, what is everyone doing on the weekend and what are your thoughts on the Ipswich game?

Sorry, just noticed the weekend thread so ignore that bit, and just put any thoughts or predictions for the Ipswich game here.

We have to win, and will - perhaps 3-1.

Clarky, I couldn't sleep last night and turned on the telly. An unknown "expert" claimed that, without Bellamy, we'd lose or draw every game.. He had a Scouse accent and supported Everton but I've no idea who he was.

It's a potential banana skin/blip but I'm hoping everybody's just really up for it. I can see it maybe being like the Blackburn game - them having the best of the early part of the match and us getting stronger as the game progresses... Hopefully.

The weekend AND Ipswich game.

Is this a blatant attempt by Dougal to seize the glory for starting "The weekend" and the "pre-match chat" thread both together, or simply a way of saving screen real-estate by combining threads?

Whatever, I've never been one to be left behind by new developments (just yesterday I chucked away my flares and platform shoes) so I'm now working on a new thread title and I submit an early draft for your considered appraisal.

The what are you doing this weekend, Ipswich team pick, Ipswich pre-match chat, Where are we meeting for the Ipswich game, Transfer rumours, the crap on .cock, Softie's detailed analysis of posts per thread 1996-2002, News from Minnesota, Dyer IS going, Jokes, Have you seen what's in today's papers, Our parlous financial state, I've just read this on RTG, How many more points do we need?, Have you seen what Lawrenson says this week?, SCREACHER!, DOUGAL!, JONNO!, SOFTIE!, GAV!, My taxi driver tells me in all confidence, ******OFFICIAL IPSWICH MATCH THREAD******, Ipswich Match reports, Resorves Report, thread.

Impressive stuff I think you'll be anxious to agree and will save you all a lot of time agonising over the "Shall I start a new thread or just put this message here" decisions that must plague so many of your waking hours.

What do you mean "Have I been overworking lately"?

-- Anonymous, March 15, 2002

Nah, not resorves reports. She's never been to KP!

-- Anonymous, March 15, 2002

I dreamt last night that newcastle drew 1-1 and that ipswich scored first. Don't worry we'll still win. If my dreams were correct, I'd be a worth a packet and gods gift to women. What a minute.......AM

Steph, don't be so presumptious: just because I haven't gone with the BBS crowd, doesn't mean I have never been to the reserves, pet :0) Secondly, I have actually been to a Falcons match a couple of years ago.

Who, Jonno, could accuse you of overworking?

-- Anonymous, March 15, 2002

Sounds like Mike Parry, Dougal. The man is a knobhead of titanic proportion, all half-baked opinion and no fact.

It will stick in my throat but I will be cheering for Newcastle tomorrow. The consequences of an Ipswich defeat on our league position (assuming we get nowt, which is likely) are frightening.

ML, it's going to be strange until the end of the season, because our run of games probably affects you lot and your run of games affects our lot so there'll be a lot of mixed feelings.

For what it's worth, I've a feeling you'll do well against Chelsea.

NAr Mike parry hasnt got a scouse accent

-- Anonymous, March 15, 2002

It's not that miserable twat on channel4's talk sport is it? He only hates us because they get John McCrirrick on as an "expert" on NUFC and he annoys the pants off him (and everyone else). Obviously the fact that they are just using the sattelite link from "The Morning Line" instead of paying for a new one is neither here nor there.

-- Anonymous, March 15, 2002

Is there anyone else on this planet who would be more cringe-inducing when he appears on telly daubed from head to his bizarre feet in black 'n white than John bloody McCririck? Shudder.

-- Anonymous, March 15, 2002

Julian Clary?

-- Anonymous, March 15, 2002

That would be an improvement on the way he usually dresses Clarky.:- {E}

To$$er

-- Anonymous, March 16, 2002

Talking of celebrity fans, did you know that Jamie from Esatenders supports Newcastle (in real life)? I didn't!

-- Anonymous, March 16, 2002

Then how could you tell us Dougal? :o))

-- Anonymous, March 16, 2002

Where's "Esatenders", somewhere near "Galowgate"?

;-)

-- Anonymous, March 16, 2002

You'll note, Pilgrim, that I said "didn't", not "don't" :0)

-- Anonymous, March 16, 2002

I always was crap at English Dougal! :o))
