Lens adaptors

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

As a follow up to my previous question concerning Voigtlander lenses, I am planning on purchasing a Skopar 25mm. I have noticed that there is a choice of adaptors, Leica and Voigtlander. Is there enough of a difference in fit and function to justify the price difference? What about the accessory viewfinder? It seems be highly regarded, is this so? Anything else to be aware of before or after purchase? Thank you for your thoughts.

The Leitz screw to M adapters are not current items, so you'd need to track down the one you want. I bought a couple of the Voigtländer adapters which are very good, built to the same standard as the old Leitz ones.

there are some no-name adapters around (or were they novoflex?) which are not very precise. once i tried one ot which brought up 4 framelines. the voigtländer one is just perfect for what it is intended to do
