Single Homestead Gals in Michigan

greenspun.com : LUSENET : A Country Singletree : One Thread

Okay, any other single "homesteading" women in Michigan/Ohio/Indiana/Illinois/Canada that would like to get together (camp, compare notes on the men)at my place in Michigan? I have room in the trailer for those less inclined to sleep outdoors (no heat, just warm rocks from the fire for your toes). I think we could have a good weekend in late spring. Kick up our heels, run bare ******* through the woods (my neighbor knows to holler before coming in sight), jump, canoe or fish in the river (bring your own canoe), ride horses (bring your own horse LOL), climb a big sandy hill to picnic, hike the State land, swat mosquitoes, drum by the camprire, cook in an earthen oven (if ya help me make one hehehe). I am going to start a Ruth Stout style garden. Should be interesting. I have cattails if ya want some. I also have lots of scrub willow and wild flowers for the taking. If you need porcupine quills, I know just where to pick them off the pile of porky doo doo. Or you could trap Ms. Porky and pick them live :). Bring your needlework or other skills to show/do. Or just yourself! Mini people always welcome too of course. No grown boys this time tho. Any interest? P.S. Minneasota is encouraged to drive for 14 hours to participate too. I'm thinking late May. I'm in Lake County, about 15 miles south of Cadillac.

Next to last line of original post reads: "P.S. Minnesota is encouraged to drive for 14 hours to participate too." I mean....what would a woodland woman get together be without a Minnesotan or two?

-- Susan in Northern LP Michigan (cobwoman@yahoo.com), March 15, 2002.

OOOOOOoooooooooo,, I gotta bring a camera to this

-- Stan (sopal@net-pert.com), March 15, 2002.

Gee, this sounds like fun! But, dang - I'm not in Michigan, or single either one. Plus I work most weekends. And I'd have to lose 20# before I'd run around nekkid in front of women even! You girls have fun up there; and don't forget the skeeter repellant!

-- Polly (tigger@moultrie.com), March 15, 2002.

Hows that song go; Shes got flies on her..but shes pretty!< A little help here Stan ....do you know the lyric's

-- Jim-mi (hartalteng@voyager.net), March 15, 2002.

Ok Stan forget it .....We have been shut down......I am retreating..

-- Jim-mi (hartalteng@voyager.net), March 15, 2002.

I think we need to go offline with this ladies. The guys are having too much fun.

-- Susan in Northern LP Michigan (cobwoman@yahoo.com), March 15, 2002.

No...but I know all four verses of "Do your ba...umm testicals hang low?" if anyone wants to sing along...

-- Polly (tigger@moultrie.com), March 15, 2002.

Polly, Shame on you..........hehe.........now you scared people away!

-- Jim-mi (hartalteng@voyager.net), March 15, 2002.

Polly you can come! It would be o.k. by me. Susan can Polly come? She would be a blast to have around.

Jimmi we women don't get shied away by that sort of stuff. Besides Polly is a nurse. If you don't play nice, I bet she knows how to use a needle and a thermometer.

Susan do you want us to start e-mailing you off forum so the guys can't find us?

The other one

-- Susan the other one (nanaboo@paulbunyan.net), March 16, 2002.

Who'm I scaring off, again?!

PS - Pop says that song is "She's got FRECKLES on her, But she's purty!" He wouldn't sing the rest for me tho..

-- Polly (tigger@moultrie.com), March 16, 2002.

And just WHY is it that Wisconsin women are not welcome? >:-( {sob} Okay, that was just an innocent oversight, right?

I don't know if I'll be "free" whenever you decide to do this, but it sounds fun. Jim is right about the MREA Energy Fair in June -- I'll be there that weekend.

-- Joy F {in Southern Wisconsin} (CatFlunky@excite.com), March 18, 2002.

I may be at the energy fair. Jimmi, do you think I could get all my questions answeared there?

-- Sherry (tlnifty@ecenet.com), March 18, 2002.

Jay do you have my telescope? or eny one i forgot who i loaned it to i cant belive them dang girls dont want us there if we had one we would invite them all Bob se,ks.

-- Bobco (bobco@kans.com), March 19, 2002.

Well so what's stopping you guys from doing it. Typical of you all to wait for the women to organize the fun then you want to join in. I'd come to your too if I was invited. Go for it guys!!!
