NIKON F LENSES ON CANON EOS D30

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

I WANT TO MOUNT MY NIKON F LENSES ON MY CANON EOS D-30. DOES AN ADAPTOR EXIST? I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO MOUNT MY PENTAX 645 LENSES ON MY CANON EOS D-30. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANKS

WhilsT theRe may be an adapter fOr nikon F lenses (although I do not know of any), it wiLL not allow you to use any features of the lens (eg AF, AE, etc), requiring stop-down exposure. The Pentax lenses, being for a different format definately can not be used.

If you have an investment in Nikon F, why did you buy a Canon body?

PS, DON'T SHOUT. IT IRRITATES PEOPLE EVEN MORE THAN UNSTUBTLEY HIDDEN MESSAGES.

Novoflex has adapters for Nikon lenses to EOS bodies.

Novoflex adapters

They also have some medium format lens adapters for the EOS cameras but the Pentax 645 lenses are not included.

I have such an adapter (Nikon-F lens to Canon-EF mount) that cost me only $35. The difference in mount register depth between Nikon (46.5 mm) and Canon EOS (44.0 mm) dictates a rather thin adapter. Its simply a mechanical coupler to keep the Nikon lens mounted to the camera body.
