Did anyone watch Football Italia last night?

Firstly, Lazio v Roma with Montella scoring 4 and Totti getting the fifth. That's called despatching your derby rivals with ease. Secondly, Inter v Juve, the "Italian Derby", how like a stereotypical English game of football was that? Furious tackles and loads of hoofed balls. Vieri and Del Piero furiously waving imaginary cards at other players and no pens given despite there being about 5 cast iron pens in the space of three minutes.

Anyway, did anyone else watch and enjoy this?

Hmm....sounds a bit like the US v Ecuador 'friendly' that was on over here yesterday. Delighted to see the US beat the 11 thugs of Ecuador plus a ref who might as well have been wearing an Ecuador shirt. I take it 'friendly' translates into Spanish as 'kick the sh*te out of the opposition'? ;-))

I thoroughly enjoyed it Dougal. The two scored by Davids were out of this world.

For me, it sticks out like a sore thumb that there are only a few English players who know how to kick a moving ball consistently with power and anything like 100% control.

Not the same if the ball's standing still.

I'd advise anybody who didn't see it last night to have a look Saturday. Highlights might not do the games justice, but just seeing the goals is worth it. Some real stunners.
