film purchase and processing

Hello fellow Leicaphiles! I will be heading to Berlin in the near future and would like a few camera store names/addresses where I can buy Fuji or Kodak film (Pro quality). I also need the name(s) of a few stores in Hamburg as well so as to develop my slides before I leave for home! I am reduced to doing this as my last set of slides (ASA 400 and above) were ruined by radiation at the airport despite all the usual precautions (ie, X-ray lead bags, film in hand luggage, etc...) Thank you!

Yikes, that's a worry! X-ray exposure is of course cumulative, for humans as well as films. How many times did your films go through the machines? Perhaps keeping below 400 would be a good idea? There are lots of good photo stores throughout Germany though when I lived there (a while ago now) Kodak was easy to come by, lots of Agfa which is a fine film, but not so much Fuji.

High Albert, I recommend PPS Heiligengeistfeld, situated in a huge concrete Bunker from the 2nd world war as a professional lab. Every taxi driver knows it. Also the subway U3 brings you directly to the lab. You leave the subway Station "Feldstrasse". Then it takes you only 200 yards to get there. It is the largest professional lab, studio and photobookshop in northern Germany.

Have a nice trip

Greetings
