How about this from Ferguson ?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

I found it on planetfootball website

"Newcastle is a great club with an exceptional social background. Their fans are unique. Newcastle United is a religion. The Geordies follow their team as other people follow the sun."

Thank you Alex we didn't expect this

Sounds like he's angling to take over after the greatest manager of the greatest club retires in 3 years' time

I've always said what a nice man he is.

The Red Issue take on this may make you laugh:

MAYBE IT’S FERGIE WHO NEEDS THE SHRINK [11:20, 10/03/2002 GMT] He lauds the Geordies to L’Equipe

"Newcastle is a great club with an exceptional social background.

"Their fans are unique. Newcastle United is a religion. The Geordies follow their team as other people follow the sun."

Hmm

Swift, there's a really interesting article on Rivaldo by Andy Mitten in this month's 442...makes Rivaldo sound sociable and quite bright.

And look what happened to those sun worshippers - butchered by the Spaniards and Portuguese, had their language and culture banned, their land and leaders taken away and they all had to adopt the new imperial religion.

Thus we're all doomed to ManU future...bollox.

I was standing in front of some Arse supporters at the Steak van on Saturday, they where really flattering about our support and the atmosphere. Someone was trying to goad them saying "you'll win nought this year" and one answered "If we don't I hope you's lot do". Nice comments but I think that was our real chance for progression and it will be hard work at their place.
