I'm the new (mysterious) one, Hello!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread

Hello everyone! I'm Susan, I live in Northern Minnesota and currently we are having a blizzard. It is better late than never, I only wish it had happened during the week rather than the weekend. It has been years since we have had a snow day.

I started a new job on Monday so I wasn't able to post until now. I'm a single mom of two teenaged boys, I have 40 acres, old house, 3 horses, a llama, 4 rabbits, 10 cats, 2 dogs, 2 geese, a goat, and 2 in door birds. Life is never dull! I spin, knit, read, snowshoe, hike, camp, ride (horses), make felt, soap, cook, and any nuber of other useless things I enjoy.

I'd like to say Hi! to Jay and Polly! I also thank you all for allowing me to enter your private world.

Susan

Got it, Polly. Susan...I certainly wont forget your birthday since my hubby's is the same day!! Welcome to our wonderful (although sometimes "strange") little group! Don't worry,...I think we've all had our rabies shots :-)!!

Welcome Susan! You sound very interesting. I look forward to hearing more about you!

Hey there................WELCOME and HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Glad to see you here and hope you enjoy being here, even thought we do get a little strange at times.

Glad you made it. I was afraid I was going to have to send out a cyber search party to get you here.:>)

Sorry it took so long to get here Jay! You know I have a hard time doing soooo many things well (VBG). Job, kids, and critters take priority, usually, and not necessaraly in than order. Besides you know I am incapable of keeping my mouth shut for long periods of time.

Thanks for the well wishes. Glad to be here!

How-dee! And welcome!

Glad to see you made it in the door, Susan!

I knew you were coming, so I baked a cake!

Edit: Well, I don't know why that won't come up -- go here to see the cake

Greetings Susan!

We're merely having a winterly storm here rather than a blizzard, and hoping that it is going to miss us. We had sleet storm last night and it has turned into blowing snow today so I had to go and try and pry seed up for the outdoor wild birds, gave up and gave them fresh unfrozen seed.

You should be honored == Joy rarely bakes!! The strange part of that is once I clicked on the link for the cake, when I returned to this page, there it sat, large as life! Oh well, I don't understand these things anyway.

She used an "easy link oven" ? :>)

LOL Jay! Definitely my idea of baking!

Yeah, Julie, that picture is playing peek-a-boo with me too -- sometimes it's there and sometimes not. I probably shouldn't be linking to another site! Bad me! ;-)

Hi Sue and Happy Birthday!

Susan, welcome to the inter sanctum and if you don't get any older because I didn't wish you a Happy Birthday, then you can blame it on me.

You'll do O.K. here because you're one of "them". They, or is it ya'll, outnumber "us" by something like three to one. When ya'll are talking, are ya'll still "them" or are you now "us"?

Wildman, (being civil)

Oh Jay, Jay, Jay. "Easy-Link Oven"? That was precious! (can a man say "precious", it's a perfectly good word, and still be manly?).

Wildman, (pumping iron)

Joy...I think you went to see Martha Stewart for that cake!! Who else uses all those "garnishes" and things :-)!! Come on...'fess up! OR...did Wildman bake it??

-- Anonymous, March 09, 2002

Marcia, I don't bake. No one eats more than one bite when I do, so I pretty much quit. I don't think Martha could have helped! Sandy took over the baking and everyone was happy for that change. I won't even get into what that cake reminds me of. Not gonna go there.

Susan, I hope you've noticed that we don't tolerate thread drift. Except for Annie, we let her post anyplace she wants to. It does make for much better flow of conversation though.

Wildman, (non baker, non cooker, big eater)

Thanks Joy..now I've got Fred Penner singing in my head "If I knew you were comin' ida baked a cake..baked a cake..baked a cake..."

Welcome Susan. Glad to meet you.
