Gregg's Stotties coming to Europe

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

I watched the www.tynetees.tv web news yesterday and they had a piece about Gregg's expansion plans - 1700 stores around UK by 2008 and into Europe too. Great news for exiles. Cheese savoury stotties rule the world. If you go to the site you can probably still yesterday's webcast, as they only update it once a day and maybe not at all over the weekend.

they don't sell stotties in Greggs in Scotland, so don't hold your breath that they will in belgium

There's a Greggs in Manchester which sells stotties - but they're not proper stotties. These softies down here don't like the toughness of the bread.

I agree with you about the cheese savoury version ------mmmmmmmmm my favourite!

Stotties haven't been the same for a while IMHO. They just don't taste the same as they did a few years ago. I don't know what it is, but something isn't right about them.

You don't get stotties in the southern branches of Greggs either - and the pasties are much more expensive. Be quite amused to pop into a shop in Brussels and ask for "le stottie avec bacon and egg, marra".
