Will the combination Elan 7e, TC 1,4 and the 70-200/4L allow autofocus? Or do i need a EOS 3 body for that?

Answers

Since the loss of light through a 1.4X TC is 1 stop, then the maximum aperture becomes F5.6, which will allow AF.

With my EOS 5 I found that the 70-200 F4L + 1.4X TC had very fast and accurate AF...faster than my 300 F4L IS + 1.4X TC, despite the same maximum aperture of F5.6.

With my EOS 3, it is faster still, but my experience with the combo suggests that you'll have absolutely no problems with the EOS 30.
