HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREENSPUN BBS!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Well, well, well this jolly old bbs is 2 years and 126,655 posts old today.

It doesn't seem like two full years since we were jettisoned into the sea of tranquility by Communicata only to be rescued by our eternal hero, Duncan Reed, a few days later - whatever happened to Dunx?

I'd like to thank all of you for brightenings my days over the last two years, and wish a Happy Birthday to the good ship Greenspun - long may it stay afloat!

Time for tea and cream cakes for the vicars all round.

Happy Birthday Greenspun. Thanks to all (well nearly all!) who contribute and make this the fun, interesting, and above all friendly place it is.

It's very scary, how time flies. Who'd have thought you could get nostalgic about the internet already? I remember way back I used to frequent a Carling board, where the Newcastle section was head and shoulders above other clubs. The boards were pulled and I drifted over with a few others to the official board, which became the Communicata board and then Greenspun. Whatever happens to Greenspun, there's too much history now for the forum to disappear.

Happy Beerday to all! And on an unrelated note, for those seeking internet nostalgia check out the Google newsgroup arc hive

Talk about time moving quickly!

serious?

it has been my honour to associate with such a polished and well behaved board. Communicata will live long in our memories (for the fact that threads would stay open just to hit 50 then 100 by not actually responding to the article of the thread, but just typing the number of the response). Very glad to see we have a prosperous board with toon fans from all over the world. If we could arrange it someday we should all attempt a return to the holy land for a few matches and actually meet up. Maybe a convention type of thingy...

you know...

Convention? Tribal gathering surely.

Good idea tho !
