LONDON (Reuters) - Scotland's Alain Baxter, who won a bronze medal in the men's slalom at last month's Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, has tested positive for the prohibited substance methamphetamine, the British Olympic Association (BOA) has announced.

I heard that they test everyone before the games start and then they only test medal winners. I also heard that if someone thinks they haven't got an earthly of getting into the medals, then they might just take a chance of boosting themselves from last to top 10

Well, as you might expect (cynic) the British Olympic Committee, Graham Bell (not the inventor, but a less good skier than Baxter) and Alain's dad are all protesting his innocence.Latest to get the blame is a nasal decongestent inhaler used before the final run. The fact it was stuffed full of amphetamines...allegedly ;-)
It strikes me that the International Olympic types are making it almost impossible for athletes to avoid all the banned substances. Quite how an athlete can gain unfair advantage by taking a lung-full of Vick's vaporub is beyond me. Unless they're E'd off their tits, in which case they'd more likely hug their competitors to death.
