how can I disable one channel or the other on my pc when playing the VCD?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

As you know that Hong Kong VCD's have cantonese and mandarin soundtracks, one on the left channel and one on the right channel, if you leave both on, it will sound funny, that's when i used the window media player on my pc to play the VCD. How can i disable one channel or the other, I tried to just turn the balance on either right or left side, but I still can hear both languages speaking (like echo ) at the same time. Could you please let me know what to do? Thank you very much yippys

Hi Yippys,

If your sound card has a mixer program, then you can use the balance control on the master control to switch on or off one of the channels.

Hope this helps.

There is left/right channel control. Double-click on the speaker icon at your system tray and you should see several faders with balance control. Swing it to either end to mute out the other.
