What craft are you doing now?

Well, was really planning on doing laundry and a few other things today, but had to adapt to no water and decided to PLAY. Since I am determined that playing will not mean that I spend the whole day on the computer, I have dragged out a bedspread I have been crocheting. It is in an old americana pattern with shells, bobbles and double crocheting and I really like it. I am doing it with "simply soft" yarn in dark sage green. It is the first time I have worked with this yarn and it is so soft.

So........what are you doing??

I am still working on my blue jean and flannel quilt. I am slow as I don;t do it often. Another project I have been working on is making a scrapbook with cards and letters recived during the year. I will do one per year and be able to look back at it. I want to start going through my old stuf and put it in books too!

Hi Diane, wish I had a craft to do. It's cold outside and I'm trying to find something to keep me busy. I'm taking a natural basket making class in April, but wish I knew how to make them today! Sure would help pass the time....Your bedspread sounds wonderful.

Diane, I am using that exact same yarn (color too) in a crocheted bedspread for my son. It was supposed to be done for Christmas, lol. I love the Simply Soft yarn. I am also making "yoyo's" (gathered circles of fabric) to put together for a bedspread. That's one reason it takes me so long to finish anything, I always have at least two projects going.

I am making a baby quilt for one of my daughters' friends with painted instead of embroidered squares depicting barnyard animals. The sashing will be green gingham and the back will be solid bright green.

Just finished the top of a lap quilt from old material. I think it looks like mother-in-law for mothers day. Started a cute red, wh. & blue...I think that will be neice as her b'day is in July. A foot of snow outside causes sewing!

I am making patchwork pillow covers for our two body pillows. There is no pattern to them. I just make 7-inch squares and sewed them together from all different fabrics. I have about 7 project in my sewing room right now. The room looks like a tornado went through it. Everytime I go there, I tell myself I should clean, but, the heck with it, I end up sewing.

My next craft for fun will be making wind chimes.

Has anyone ever done this using metal tubes? I will need to find a source of these tubes. I guess it is time for Mr and Mrs Google!

I am crocheting an afghan for my husband. When it's done it will be big enough to cover my queen size bed. I am also cross stitching a piece called Maggie the Messmaker. It is a cat asleep in a sewing room that it has just messed up. Very cute!

I dug out the flowers I pressed from the garden last summer and have been making cards. Several birthdays, a friend who had surgery and just sharing with my friends depleted my supply. Got it back up there again.

I am in the middle of crocheting dishrags for the craft fair, and for gifts. I am trying to finish 5 quillos, which are all in various stages (did get 3 done). I have my scrapbooking going; and starting to make hats, also for the fair. Did someone say housework? Sissy
