Need players to "Rock & Roll" on Autohost!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Stars! - The Game : One Thread

I have secured a game slot on Autohost from Ron! I'm looking for serious, dedicated players, that will make an effort to play every day. And I do mean 7 days a week. This should be a long game, and no weekends would take forever to finish. I'ld like to get the game started by next Monday, March 11.

Here's what I'm thinking. Pretty much a wide open game, all skill levels welcome. Bring your best race, and your best chaff, but no cheats or hacks please. Large if 9 or more players, otherwise medium. Normal density, farther starts, ABBS. The more players the better.

"Winner" declared with highest score after 100 years, but we continue until vote determines victor. Dead players can't vote. :) No team winners. This turns on pub scores at 2500. Until then, keep 'em guessing.

I'll push to get EVERYONE to play a few turns a day, at least for the first few days. Not required, but the big uni should make the first several turns simple. Like I said, it's going to be a long one, so let's get the early stuff over with. And I hate "multigen" so don't even mention it! :)

This is my first time as host, but Autohost makes it so easy that it really doesn't matter. I will promise you that I'll try to do a good job. I'll check my e-mail as often as I can, set you to maid mode when you ask, and in general do my best to keep the game going, even if I get killed. :( At this time, I have "unconditional" 24 hour net access. That may change. If it does, I'll let everyone know.

If you've got any questions, comments, ideas, etc. post 'em here or send me e-mail. If you're sure you want to play, send me a passworded race file. First come, first served. If I reply that I've accepted your race file, it's your guarantee of a reservation. I'll call for final races 24 hours before the game starts, if you want to change it.

The game is called "Rock & Roll". Please mention it in the title of any e-mail, so it gets my immediate attention. :)

Be glad to have you Justin. E-mail me your race file as soon as you can. I'll hold the #2 spot for you for now. I just sent you an e-mail reminder also. :)

Just testing to see if messages now show up where they should.

Embarrassed StarMaster... :)

Testing, testing, 123... That's better.

Sorry, configuration error on my part... :)

So far, I've received 2 race files, and I'm holding spots for 2 others, plus myself. Still room for 11 more players. Let's see if we can get a full game!

I'll be sending e-mail confirmations to those that have expressed interest when I get home tonight. :)

OK, we're at 6 players, 4 have race files in. Everyone interested should have an e-mail from me by now.

Still room for 10 more. Come on folks, this is a "big" game. A chance to use your best race. A chance to show us what you've got!

Get off the fence and send me your race file! I want to get this game going...

:)

We're up to 9 players, 8 confirmed. :)

Yup, send it on over. I just sent you e-mail.

We're up to 10 players. :)

I'm going to make a last call on the message boards tonight for more players. We should be starting soon I hope. Hang in there! :)

I hate it when these darn messages get out of order. I wonder what causes that... :(

John,

I've just sent you an e-mail. You will be player #13.

I plan to send the game to Autohost tomorrow evening. :)

Looks like I should have waited a few days to start the game...

There are 3 people that missed the start. I may be asking Ron at Autohost for another game slot soon. I've saved the e-mail address of those that have expressed interest, and have notified them that they missed this game. If I do secure another slot, you will be the first to know...

:)

Hi starmaster, If you have yet to start your "Rock & Roll" game, I'm very keen to be involved.

Will have a race file to you within 24 hours if you are still accepting players.

Regards, Dog.
