For a VCD what is max possible bit rate campatible to all cd players.

I use Pinnacle studio 7 to capture from my digital cam & nero5.5 to creat VCD. Can anybody guide me about the maximum bit rate I can safely set for VDO/Audio while creating cd ,enabling me to play my CD on all CD players?? -Mahesh Mahajan

Answers

For a standard video CD, its data rate is fixed, since it uses the "CBR (Constant Bit-Rate) encoding method. Video Rate=1,152Kbps, and Audio Rate=224Kbps.

All players do not support CD-R and CD-RW, so please be aware that nothing you do will play on ALL players. For your best chance at compatibility, stick to VCD standards for bit rates and resolutions. www.vcdhelp.com can help you with this if you don't know what the standards are.

No, at constant bit rate 1300, some DVD players will not play it correctly. I know at least one: Pioneer 434.
