Well, interesting question Chris, Szasz is obviously a controversial figure as a result of his assertion that Mental Illness is a myth.

In my opinion he draws some thought-provoking historical paralells between the mental "disease" of "spermatorrhea" as defined in the 19th century and, and the mental "disease" of "homosexuality" as defined in the early to late 20th century:
