Are John and Fanny Allan Edgar Allan Poe's Aunt and Uncle?

John and Fanny Allan are not Edgar Allan Poes Aunt and Uncle. They were his foster parents, who took him in their home after his mother died and father had abandoned the family while Poe was an infant.
