Concerning both Fuji and Kodak E6 film processing, how convenient/widespread is it? How expensive is it? How good is it?

How about film, is there some city in Europe where film cost is on a par with B&H?

So far I have found the E-6 processing labs to be about twice as numerous and half as expensive as in the U.S.

High Bud, I live in North Germany (Hamburg). You can buy E6 (Fuji, Kodak or Agfa) in every city larger than 20.000 inhabitans. In Hamburg I would asume about 500 to 1000 stores. Ektachrome Elite is 2,50 to 3 Euro, Provia F app. 6 Euro. Processing is app. 2.5 Euro overnight and in professional labs (Medi@bild or IPS or Leolab) app. 3.5 Euro.

Thanks Ralph, I used to live in Feucht near Nuremberg. I bought bricks of Kodachrome 25 in the U.S. and had it processed at the now- defunct Kodak lab in Germany (best Kodak lab I've ever used).

Now with the problems of September 11th, when I travel in Europe I want to buy film locally and have it processed before I return home. E6 film makes that possible. The alternative would be to go digital.

What do you mean in France Kodak does Kodachrome in 48 hours??? I though for all Europe Kodachrome meant shipping to Switzerland with an interminable wait???
