Chin up!!

Well we lost to Arsenal - disappointing but not unexpected!! I personally think that Man U will not lose another league game this season so they'll win the title. Yesterday confirmed what most of us knew, we havent got the depth of squad that the top 3 teams have. Okay weve signed 3 top players this year, robert, bellamy and jenas that have improved our squad and made us a top 6 side. Next year we sign 4 more and we can be challenging for the title!! Yesterdays best result for me was charlton 2 chelsea 1, just need Leeds to lose and the arsenal game will not be a disaster everyone is making it out to be. Champions league place for the toon was beyond my wildest dreams at the start, now it is very much a possibility. So chin up everyone!! AM

This is really weird, I was about to post something similar.

There is a lot to be happy about at the moment.

Don't let one defeat disguise the fact that we have had, and indeed still are having a great season.

Well said Paul. At the start of the season could we have expected to be where we are in league and cup? Playing some good intelligent football. Excellent season for me. (must be the tablets)

Equally, while we ran out of steam yesterday, we started brilliantly: it's a fine margin in football.

Realistically speaking we are, and have been unlikely to win the title this season. Still isn't totally out of the question(C'mon Derby!!), but unlikely. Better to concentrate on finishing as high up the league as possible. At this point CL should be our aim. If we do better great, even if we only manage UEFA it's still far better than any of us really expected before the season started. Let's just enjoy the rest of the season now and note where we need to improve for next season. :-)

We're 2 points of the top, with 10 games left ie a quarter of the season. Chelsea and Leeds are now well adrift (famous last words). We've matched the top 4, (pending 'Pool away) when we've played against them. Down against Chelsea, up against Leeds. The top three will have a tiring time in the CL. We were bound to loose against somebody at some point, heck that's the first in 9 games. So what's the problem? Me, I'm still confident, and will be even if we loose to 'Pool. My prediction, third, behind Arse and Manure.

3 points off the top, actually.

Thanks Aped Ant. See, I never read the sports pages when we've lost. Now I feel miserable. You spoilt my evening. Hope you're pleased with yourself.

Whatever happens it's been more fun than last season.
