I have a 17 year old apricot male mini poodle who has been so healthy and energetic. Just yesterday he got out of the hospital after two days of iv and antibiotic therapy due to an extremely high liver enzyme count- He's slowly coming back to himself but is even pickier than ever to eat his food. I"m afraid he's not getting enough calories in his diet and that it is not balanced. The only thing he ate today was a can of chicken. He would not eat his NF kidney food. And it took him all day to finally eat the chicken. Any tips of how to get him to eat knowing his special dietary needs. Also, he seems to have stopped eating his dog biscuits-- so unusual for him! He's 14 pounds. I take him back to the Vet monday to retest his liver enzyme count, I pray it's back to normal.
