So what do they mean by best fans? What do they award points for? Is it like behaviour? I.e points docked fo racism? Or singing and away support etc.? Or gates compared with team performance?

I bet it has alot to do with the way we're playing. Last season we were hopeless but still got massive gates. Hence - Great fans. Now we're the most exciting team in the premiership and have huge gates so we're all glory seekers.

Re Freddy's comments, the club should at least get a lot more leeway from the council who should be bending over backwards to assist an attraction which brings so much trade and wealth into the area and is (sometimes) responsible for a high feel-good factor in the city.

I understand that on a number of planning issues affecting United, councillors who are holders of United ST's have been unable to vote but councillors who are Sunderland fans ARE able to vote. Consequently I believe a number of United plans have been thwarted. These councillors should be named and shamed in the papers before every local government election.
