Stevo for starters,Mac for seconds

Stevo for his local savvy, Mac cos he may have seen the 2 games that involved Rangers-Feynoord. Previously I have waxed lyrical on the ability of Van de Varte of Ajax, that still stands, a knocking bet for world stardom. David Fernadez of Livingstone will go to the EPL and will prove an exciting acquistion to whatever team buys him. I would like to cheat and substitute one of my original 3 young prospects for the future, take out Marinelli and insert one Robin Van Perse of Feynoord,(18). He came on as sub in the first game and made me sit up 2nd game he was on from the start ostensibly as a replacement for JDT but played wide left, albeit a great tactic by Marwik against a Rangers makeshift full back (Vidmar). People he is built like a brick Anderson shelter, has pace, great skill and a Bergkamp type football brain. My thoughts went back to Duncan Edwards when I watched this kid he will be able to play any left sided position, striker, defender. I am not getting carried away, watch this space and when your are watching can I suggest take it easy on Brett Emerton, I was expecting more from him although I can recollect Clarky posting that he was not too impressed after watching him, FB for FB , give me AAron Hughes any day of the week (if Dougal will let go of him).

Buff - without checking I feel sure my comments on Emerton were not particular negative and were based on watching the highlights only of the Oz v France game recently. I believe they were highly qualified because of that.

In actual fact, I recall observing that he reminded me of Rob Lee at the same age - which ain't too bad.

'Perse' means 'arse' in Finnish. It would be hilarious if we had a player with that written on his back. I say we sign the lad!
