John Ser. number indicates this is a IIIc made in 1949. Mckeown's guide prices clean examples at $175.00 to $250.00. There are several on e- bay ranging from $26.00 to 300.00 plus. Ed

John. Many people come onto this site asking questions about the value of old screwmount Leicas. It is almost impossible to be precise (though the above figures are a reasonable guide) without knowing: 1)the cosmetic condition (there are strict grading scales); and 2) the functional condition (ie., does it need a CLA before use, which is often the case). A really pristine completely functioning example, even of a common camera such as the IIIc, could be worth more than these amounts.

The most impotant question IMHO is, is the rangefinder window clear? All too often they tend to be cloudy through age.

That said, I saw a very nice chrome II today, with a pristine rf window.
