Single parenting

I posted the following today on our Encouragement Forum, which would be happy to reach the knees of Country Families, and I thought some of the posters and lurkers here might be interested in it as well.

Wife Vicki and Leila are still in the U.S. after the former's grandmother's funeral on Tuesday. So I am mom and dad to the boys while she is gone. It is not an easy task. I kept all three kids a few years ago when her stepfather was killed and she went by herself to the U.S. to be with her mother then. That experience was enough for me, but since it has come up again, one does what one can.

My temporary situation reminds me to honor those single parents who have the tough job of being mom and dad to their kids. You need a good support group to make it through, whether church, extended family, or friends. My hats off to those who are often overlooked in their special difficulties. May God give you strength to see it all the way through.

Thank you from a single mom of two girls, since 1984. The youngest is about to married and the older has been out on her own for about 4 years. AngieM2

Thank you very much! I agree, we don't get the support, or hugs we need. I have two boys both are in the teen years. Some days I feel like I get beat up from all sides. My kids are great compared to most, and I have to remember to tell myself that they are going throught their own trials.

Thanks again for the thought Randal,

Susan
