Hi, my name is Danielle and I'm a fourth year undergraduate student working on her thesis. I've run into various problems with my thesis and data collection and was wondering if any one would be willing to participate in my study by filling out a short survey. Thanks a lot.
Title of Thesis: Roles of gender and sexual orientation in discomfort with public displays of affection length: 10-15 minutes age group: 20-29 yrs of age
Summary of Research I would like to invite you to participate in a research study focused on the effects of gender and sexual orientation on discomfort with public displays of affection. As part of the project you will be asked to view twelve photos comprising of four poses of public displays of affection performed by a heterosexual, lesbian and gay couple. You will also be asked to concurrently rate your perceived level of discomfort for each act as if it were occurring in a public place. There are no physical risks associated with this study and if you experience too great of a discomfort you may choose to withdraw from the study at any time. This study is being performed as part of a thesis to complete an honours degree in psychology. Therefore the results will not be published although they (results, not personal information) may be shared with my professor, T.A., classmates and others, but in no way will you be identified and all information will be kept confidential.
