That reminds me of an epiphany that I had not too long ago, one of those moments when something struck me so profoundly that I had to stop and ponder its significance.

Here it is:

In all of my 28 years in Da Radio Bidness, I have never, ever been employed by a station that played Bananarama.

I don't know whether to feel a sense of loss. But there's some profundity there, somewhere ...

The DC area music scene has always been pretty lively (I need only say three words, "Root Boy Slim", to prove that point). But some years ago, there was an all-female band whose lead singerette was named "Venus Penis-Crusher", which I felt was remarkably poor taste.

It is actually 3 different "groups", Pink (dyke), Christina Aguilera (slut trash), and Mya (brown sugar whore), from left to right. They won an award for their vocal collaboration on an old song they stole, "Lady Marmalade", since they have almost no talent writing their own.
