Any suggestions for a good photo course/workshop in San Diego County, CA? I want some help with my composition, how to really asses a scene. Don't have time to travel right now so I want it to be in my own back yard.

You might want to check with your local junior colleges for photo courses. Although SD is a great town, it's a bit out of the way to be a target for workshops.

You also might think about an art class, sketching, charcoal, pen & ink, watercolor, etc. This will teach you more about composition than any photography class.

Check with City College, they have a pretty good photo dept as I understand. SDSU has been running extensions courses, but the scope of photo classes is somewhat limited though you might find them useful. Also the post regarding art classes is a very good suggestion, just ask Cartier-Bresson.
