I saw this but didn't want to post it! I've already posted enough bad news for one day!

He's had a precautionary scan so may be nothing. he's got a week to recover (touching wood here). There's always Cort but losing Bellamy is losing our main weapon = pace. In fact the reason we did so well was the combined pace of Bellamy and Dyer wasn't it? I know we've won the last few games without Dyer but it's asking alot to keep going without Bellars as well!

I'm going to go away and say a little prayer now.

Shit someone has knocked over my half empty glass....it's smashed! :((

As far as i can see its just speculation, he had a knee pain and is getting a scan end of story . Nowt to worry about..

What's the injury? Broken jaw??? Perhaps, just perhaps, this is YBR playing mind games with @rsene. If they think Bellamy is out, they'd have to change their defensive approach. OK, so what if the words "clutching" and "straws" come to mind.

Enter Carl Cort.... stage left

not far off mate. i reckon they were going to play 'Lauren' in the team and were afraid Bellamy would kick out. bobby is just creating a touch of confusion...just what does Wenger do now?

-- Anonymous, February 26, 2002

suspect Wenger hasn't even noticed, apparently they have a CL game this week

....if it's OK with the optimists I'll stay worried for a while longer until hopefully it's confirmed that it's nothing serious.

Remember CB had a cruciate knee ligament reconstruction (ie. the Gazza operation) while at Norwich and was out for a year.

Wasn't it a bit unrealistic to think we would have stayed clear of injury to a vital player until it was all done and dusted ? I seem to remember we didn't do too badly last time Bellamy and Dyer were both out.

It'll show us how much else needs to be done. Okay, it would have been great to have everybody fit for at least another fortnight, three weeks, but I don't think we should panic yet.

It might even prove beneficial in the long run because it could mean if he's out for a while, we'll develop a style of play that doesn't rely mainly on Bellamy's pace.

Might even force them to give the ball to Robert more often, and let him do Bellamy's job down the other side, assuming he can buck his ideas up.

All will have been revealed come about 8pm Saturday.

If we have Cort and Shearer moving into the penalty area then it will actually be worth Robert's while to take his man on and cross, whenever he's done it before Bellamy's pace has taken him into the box and back out again by the time it's done. Without him we'll have 2 slower players arriving together as the cross comes in, might see a whole different ballgame from French Bloke.

Just what I was thinking last night Softie. Whilst I would stil rather still CB play, we'll need to have Nobby and Robert playing very wide and crossing well. Let's see what the Frenchie is made of when the chips are down.

The only problem with that plan is that CC is apparently not ready to play. It seems likely that Shola will play, with The Clown the less likely alternative.

BTW, SkySports was reporting last night that CB may require surgery on his knee - hopefully this is just idle speculation.

Obviously if Cort is fit then he should play but if he isn't then I would play Lua x2 against Arsenal - especially if Stepanovs is likely to play - he is obviously their weak link at the back and we will need to attack with pace.
