Screacher: The New Face of the Toon

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Not content with being on Sky every time we play, Screach is now to be found in the derby supplement of the Ronnie, arms aloft in praise of the Lads. I wish I was his bliddy agent,

Elsewhere, I suspect that the Toon and Makem fan chatting to each other at HT on the video was none other than our own Soops. Can he confirm?

Dougal the only ones i saw chatting at half time were very young lads. Teenagers at most. Surely Soops isn't that young?

No, these two were about 35+.

I'll have to check the vid. BTW how can I spot Screacher? Is he part of the titles for a live game or something?

Some people will do anything to get on the telly. He wasn't the strea

naa... he couldn't move that fast

Look for Les Battersby.

I meant streaker. Something went wrong with my post.

Les Battersby????

Les Battersby - working class hero. Role model to the reactionary PC, New Man brigade. A feller who does his best to avoid any graft (see Dingle), expects his tea on the table but who is extremely vulnerable when his lass dumps him.

Not as much hair as once was, donkey jacket, easily excitable.

Se e here for lookielikie

I watched it with a couple of mates, as the camera panned across the geordie masses, someone said, "how, Dave isn't that the old bloke you always talk to at away games"

Now I understand why he was so keen to swap tickets with me - bloody attention seeker!

All this media exposure has gone to his head, and he's well on his way to becoming a "luvvie". Actually, when I think of it, the make-up should have been a dead giveaway. ;o{]

Screacher, tell that bloke on your left with the multi-coloured sweater to get off the phone and support the Lads....honestly, there's a time and a place for everything.

I was chatting over the fence at halftime to a couple of my mates .It was above the tunnel which had a Feyenord flag hanging over it.I was right at the bottom of the stairs and cannot recall seeing Screacher( I have seen photos) My mates were amazed that they were that close to us.

Isn't the picture of our bench going mental when we scored heart- warming?

-- Anonymous, February 25, 2002

... the make-up should have been a dead giveaway ...

The handbag,high heels and black off-the-shoulder number were an even bigger giveaway, I reckon, Clarky. :-{E}

....I had no intention of letting that particular cat out of the bag, Pit Bill.

Does Screacher sit 5 rows from the front in the gallowgate? Is there a photo of him anywhere on the net? Because a few seats along from me, for at least 4 matches this season there has been a Les Battersbey double. He's not been at all of the matches in this seat, but a few. It would be a huge co-incidence I know, but so would 2 Les Battersbey doubles in St James's Park.

Flippin heck. As if life weren't bad enough down in Wetherfield since our Janice left me and me best mate Dennis died, now I find I'm being hounded by flippin look alikes. It's not good enough you know and I'm flippin brassed off with it. I'd like to say that I have no interest in football (like all the other locals in The Rovers and also them in The Queen Vic) and I was not in Sunderland over the weekend. My image is sacred you know and anybody seen impersonating me will have to deal with my double agent. The only doubles I want to see are them whats lined up on t' bar in t' Rovers so just get that straight like. OK?

Cheers
