Camera Value

I have a Minolta Dynax 700SI with a 28 - 80 Lens. It is in perfect working order. I want to sell it? How can I put a value on it?

I deleted the suggestion for using a magic marker to put a value on the camera. I'm sure the person who responed knew what was being asked, but wanted to make a joke. No problem there, but at least give some useful information along with it if you do something like that.

Jim is right though. eBay is both a good place to sell, and a good place to determine value. Like he said, auctions often cause prices to become inflated, depending on the item. You could also go to www.keh.com and get an automated quote on what they would give you, and add 20% or so to that for a private sale.

Yeah, a magic marker might out a value on it, but I'd go to Ebay and find out what each piece (body and lens) have been selling for. Then, to be fair, I'd reduce that by 20%.

That, or just put it up for auction on Ebay and pocket the extra 20%. Amazing how much they will pay for things there.

Hi, I probably should have said that I live on the other side of the big pond over here in Ireland. Anyhow, thanks for the help, I did try KEH but they don't do valuations for Europe unless it is over $1,000. However, I did take the tip and found http://www.buyandsell.net/ who don't auction but do provide an online buy and sell forum locally. One thing I did note with interest, cameras (all sorts) seem much more expensive over here.
