Oh yes, despite receiving a pleasant invitation to join the unwashed on their RTG message board by the oh so lovely Mboma. It seems the makem administrators are happy to protect that scumbag who thinks insulting the memory of our friend is funny. Curious, I didn't swear or threaten violence, gave my email address in postings and noted the good nature of the vasy majority of makem posters.

Still, in a strange way I feel quite proud :-) You know, losing 1-0 must really, really hurt some people

So the (car)toon army have managed to scape a win against us for the first time in God knows how long. Yippee. Obviously that makes them as "big as Barcelona" and not a side who have won nothing for 30-plus years and are £105m in debt. To be frank if what we saw at Wearmouth yesterday are title contenders then English football is in a very sorry state.

So says Michael Storey (one of the Mackem jury members) in the Journal.

I do think Micheal is a bit of a gobshite most weeks but this did make me smile.

I just wonder who he expects to be title contenders then. Let's see. ManUre turned them over big time at the SoS didn't they. Yes, I can see that team being contenders - for the Resorves league.

Wearside is awash with sour grapes at the moment. Been laughing out loud at RTG's match report. ' 2 ordinary sides' 'lots of huff and puff', blah blah.

Not wrong but most derbies are hardly classics and if they want to see our superiority they only need to look at the league table. God when they beat us the plaudits raining down on their team were unbelievable, it was like THEY were Barcelona. In reality the last few derby matches have been very similar.

Some Makems on here have shown good grace in defeat, it is laughable how some of 'them down the road' can't do this.

Looks like their pages are back up - so perhaps I've not been granted the infamy of being banned :-) Ok, wiped my feet clean and am now returning full time to the NUFC BBS.

if what we saw at Wearmouth yesterday are title contenders then English football is in a very sorry state.

And what sort of state is a team in that trails them by 24 points?

It's funny how so many Mackems resort to mentioning how we've won nothing for decades (we do have 4 major trophies to their 1 since the war) and they also go on about how we are glory hunters. Now I'd have thought you can't have that argument both ways? Let's hope they can legitimately call us glory hunters next season. :-)

Before the match they were all spouting on about how derby games are never classics and all that, and afterwards they suggest that there is nothing between the two teams.

If we can judge us on one game, then judge us on the demolition of Villa at home, and judge Sunderland on the West Brom cup match?

They are fighting themselves with this argument I'm afraid.
